What is Confirmation Dog Show?

A Confirmation Dog Show is like a beauty contest. It is a competition for individual pedigree dogs to achieve a champion status, as well as competing for the crowning glory against other dogs for the Best in Show Title.

The dogs will be competing as per each & every breed’s written standard specimen that describes what the head of a particular breed should look like, its body, forelegs, hind legs, tail placement, etc. In other words, the breed standards describe what a perfect specimen of a breed should look like, from head to toe. Together with the dog’s Movement, Temperament as well as the crucial handling skill of the handler.

From the seven Groups in an All Breeds Show, each Group is represented in the General Specials ring to determine the In Show Awards, starting with each Best Exhibit in Breeds, to Group titles & finally competing for Best In Show. There will be local & international judges to perform judging procedure, judging for perfect specimen which basically it is a knock out contest with winners ascending to the next level of competition. By the end of the show there is one winner from the total show entry and that exhibit is Best In Show. Along the way to this ultimate prize, there are other prestigious awards, Best In Group, Reserve Best In Group, Best of Breed, Reserve Best of Breed and Best In Class.
